Annie shared her dream of being an artist. Well, she was an artist of course, but she wanted to be paid to be an artist. This is a distinction I run into with many people. They bubble with creativity, pour their souls out onto canvas and marble and paper, then sit in the middle of their wonderful work and cry, “But how do I get recognized? Why isn’t the world beating a path to my door? Why doesn’t this work sell?”

They remind me of the Black Limo Fantasy: when I was eight, the nation was in love with The Mickey Mouse Club—and no one more than I. I wanted to play with them, dance with them, be one of them. I hadn’t a clue how that could happen. My fantasy was that talent scouts were driving up and down the streets in a Black Limo, looking for talented children to whisk away to stardom. I kept my eyes peeled for the Black Limo with the talent scout in it. Alas, it never came to my neighborhood.

So I look at my beautiful artist friends and don’t want them to wait one more day for the Black Limo. It’s not coming for them, and it’s not coming for you. It is parked at a corner somewhere in your future, its motor running, waiting for you to arrive. And you don’t find it in one seven-league boot stride. You find it by every day making one baby step towards your dream. The purpose of art is communication with people. You have to pick up the golden phone—the one with the money in it—and talk to people who might own a piece of your dream. Find out where the Black Limo is parked by asking everyone you know, then even calling people you don’t know. Talk to gallery owners, corporate art buyers, interior decorators, architects. Enter contests, display at the local Rotary Club art fair, form a support group of other artists, and share connections. This is called “sales and Marketing” by business people. I call it “sending Out Ships.” They are the delivery system for your creations, whatever they may be. You have to get them out where people can buy them; otherwise, they’re just hobby-crafts that you give away at Christmas.

Annie never thought she could make a sale. Not only was she afraid to make a phone call, she was reluctant to make a sale when someone called her and asked to buy one of her paintings. There were people in her life who wanted to invest money, time and connections in her dream, and she wasn’t letting them help her. She was afraid. The fear stopped her cold. I told her that I wasn’t a therapist and I couldn’t find the source of her fear. I could only tell her to get over it, or on her deathbed she’d be regretting instead of reminiscing.

The next week, she started selling paintings. She found her Black Limo. Where is yours?

Ants are classified in the bee clan. They are what you might call a “stingless wasp.” Fire ants are all over the United States and it is important that if or when a bite turns into an eruption, DO NOT break it. It will eventually scab and perhaps even scar.

With summer, here come insect bites. Those nasty little pesky varmints’ that can ruin a picnic or disrupt a good night’s sleep. Not to mention, they can give you first class aggravation from the sting and itching that their bite tags on to remind you that you will definitely not forget any time soon that they paid you a visit. As an overall remedy for all bug bites, the herb Plantago is effectively one of the very best to treat with and you can find it for free. Check out the compacted soil along sidewalks and your driveway. It’s a weed and always handy. Now let's get specific.

Fly’s are everywhere in summertime—morning, noon and night. With their dagger like appendage, daytime is their preferred time to bite. They stab you then it hurts and they promptly get a lot of blood from you to feast on. Because they transmit Lyme disease and anthrax, you want to heed your condition if you develop a high fever. It’s a sign you’ve contracted something from a fly.

Ants are classified in the bee clan. They are what you might call a “stingless wasp.” Fire ants are all over the United States and it is important that if or when a bite turns into an eruption, DO NOT break it. It will eventually scab and perhaps even scar.

The remedy:

Cool the bite down with cool water compress.

11.5 strong Kangen Water® in a compress is the best kind. It pulls the toxins out when doing this.

Like we said above, be sure to NOT BREAK the blister.

If you have it, apply Asea from a spray bottle several times a day and let it dry.

IMPORTANT! If you get shortness of breath, call the doctor immediately.

Mosquito bites transmit diseases like encephalitis, West Nile Virus and Malaria. Malaria, fortunately, is not prevalent here in the U.S. nor is it a public concern, but traveling can present grave health risks. Encephalitis and West Nile virus have a much more invasive presence in the United States. A myth passed around from time to time is about mosquitoes and AIDS. What is very important to know and remember is that mosquitoes DO NOT transmit the AIDS virus period. Do not treat mosquito bites lightly, however, because they have been known to spread human disease to more than 3 million people worldwide who die.

The remedy, there are several:

Rub the pulpy inside surface of a banana peel on the bite. It takes the itch out.

Wash and rub the bite with soap as soon as you recognize you’ve been bitten.

Apply an ice pack to the bite.

Make a past with baking soda and a little water then apply to the bite.

Lavender and tea tree oils can provide relief.

Toothpaste has been known to work, too.

11.5 strong Kangen Water® on a compress will take the inflammation down

2.5 will treat the bite as a disinfectant.

And Asea will start repairing the traumatized cells immediately when sprayed on the bite.

Jelly fish, if you are on any of the coastal areas of the U.S., stings are very common. They can cause death within minutes along with nausea, diarrhea and irritation to the skin. Their tentacles actually inject toxin. So you don’t want to mess around and wish the irritated area away if you are on the beach and one of your little ones or yourself gets stung.

The remedy:

Deactivate the substance they have stung you with by rubbing salt water into the places where the jelly fish may have swam by you and rubbed his body on your leg.

Again, spray with 2.5 strong acidic water to kill any residual bacteria.

Apply 11.5 strong Kangen Water® compress.

And Asea is excellent because it is a balanced set of molecules suspended in a salt water solution.

There isn’t a woman alive that doesn’t have in the back of her mind the thought of breast cancer and with it a prayer she never gets it. We’re constantly reminded to check for lumps in order to catch abnormalities early so we do what we’re told like so many other things we do growing up as girls and get our annual mammograms. With any kind of luck, we’ll live a rich full life and be breast cancer free.

But when getting that yearly evaluation, how many women consider breast density?” Most are unfamiliar with the term or even what is meant by it because it isn’t commonly mentioned until there is an irregularity and you have to go back for a second diagnostic mammogram. At that point the technician, radiologist or your own doctor will tell you if you have dense breast tissue and you are left wondering what that is.

Typically, breast density is measured and recorded, but not explained, to you. It’s a characteristic seldom discussed with patients. Typically, the denser the breast, the more difficult the mammogram is to read. It’s also important to understand that breast density can change over time. This is a good reason to track it from mammogram to mammogram. If your density goes up, so does the risk for breast cancer.

So what is a woman to do? One, if you’re menopausal, factor in your breast density before starting hormone replacement therapy [HRT] of estrogen and/or progestin. In the 2002 Women’s Health Initiative trial, researchers discovered that this group of post menopausal women had a greater risk of breast cancer when taking HRT than women taking a placebo. By knowing your breast density, it can help when making a decision to use or not use HRT.

Another reason breast density information may be useful is that you may decide to have an MRI or ultrasound exam in addition to a mammogram. This is something, however, that you must request. It’s not common practice for the doctor to automatically order it when there seems to be no visible problem.

Breast cancer survivor, Cindy Peterson, meticulously watches her health by working closely with her oncologist who ‘coaches’ her wellness program. She takes her prescribed medications while weaving through her Westernized protocol a selection of natural remedies. Among them are Kangen Water® combined with the new Asea. Whereas Kangen Water® hydrates her body well, it also keeps toxins flushed out of her cells and changes the internal terrain making it more alkaline which cancer cells don’t seem to like. She’s finding Asea is boosting her immune system, helping with her sleep and contributing to an improved mental outlook. It’s still too early to determine any other effects it may have. Cindy recommends highly that every single woman request, along with her regular mammogram, an ultrasound. She has a firm belief that had she had an ultrasound much, much earlier the 7 centimeter size tumor in her breast would have been detected perhaps before it even became cancerous. In dense breast tissue, it is simply too easy for a small tumor to be overlooked and by the time it is detected, it may be too late.

With the knowledge this dense tissue characteristic brings to the table, it’s important to get more emphasis on how to put it to its best use. Presently it is not part of the Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Tool. To make it so the pressure needs to come from patients and loved ones—tell your doctor your views, write to the National Cancer Institute who developed the risk assessment kit, and/or write your senators and/or representatives pushing for more action on this matter.

Factors that should make you request if not demand more than a mammogram are:

Medical history of breast cancer

Your age

Age at your first menstrual period

Age you had your first child

Family history of breast cancer

Any biopsy history and the results of it if you had one

Race or ethnicity

Breast density is not part of this list. There are many researchers and scientists that believe it should be added. To date, there is no indication that it will be.

Generally, I wouldn’t write about Junk Email, but today is different because what’s coming into our inboxes can cost us a fortune in our health—emotional, physical and financial.

Yesterday, I received an email that even the real Amazon would have believed. Had I not been wary, I would and could have found myself with a migraine the size of Texas and a heart attack as massive as an earthquake in spite of taking my Asea with my Kangen Water®. Yes, it’s true!

This fake email was the best I’d ever seen. Luckily, my gut told me to be suspicious. I kid you not, these emails looked like legitimate confirmations of orders from Amazon. Here’s what made me suspicious. Maybe it will help you. First, I hadn’t ordered anything from Amazon in the last few days or even weeks. Second, the link they wanted me to click on read townknow.com. And third, it had “Junk” in the subject line.

Because these forgery guys/hackers/spammers/phishing people are experts in deception, they are the best at adversely affecting your health. To protect yourself, start doing this. Put @Amazon.com, @BankofAmerica.com or any other fake link that looks legit on your ‘Blocked Senders’ list—both the full link and the extension, separately. Then when you get an email from the ‘real’ Amazon and the ‘real’ banking institution, you can approve them individually from your “Junk Mail” folder. This will protect you from clicking before you think because once you do, you’re in for real trouble. If you do, it’s highly probable you’ll have a permanent visitor or user hacked into your computer, able to read passwords and account names and then use them to take money and data from you.

Yep, you’ll have to review your Junk Folder before emptying it, but it’s a small effort when you compare it to the headache or stroke you might get for clicking on a link that’s an unwanted, surreptitious visitor making camp on your hard drive only to rob you of private data that can upend your life for weeks, months or even years. Identity thievery is pervasive. Scamming emails are daily occurrences. Take heed and save yourself a migraine. The stress from an empty retirement account could very well cost you a lengthy hospital stay. Stress can do it! Get some immune protection with ASEA and Kangen Water®.

Hyperbaric chambers, ionized water and the scientific discovery of the importance of reactive molecules are all noninvasive, safe and have the ability to work well with other treatments.

None of these discoveries involve drugs. And none are magical cure-alls. In all cases, however, each is extremely, if not extraordinarily, useful to the healing process. The main ‘ingredient’ across the board is oxygen. It’s true that the presence of oxygen can make the difference between health and disease. Too little oxygen can create a reduced biological energy that can lead to conditions as simple as mild tiredness or fatigue to a full blown disease that has the potential of becoming life threatening.

The common characteristic between these three advanced forms of treating or reacting to disease is the ability to introduce elevated levels of healthy oxygen to the body. But why is oxygen important? When we go back to 1931 we find that Dr. Otto Warburg received the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine. He declares, "…the prime cause of cancer is the replacement of the respiration of oxygen in normal body cells by a fermentation of sugar."¹

It goes without saying that if we as individuals are able to introduce greater supplies of oxygen naturally to our cells and in particular to our defective cells, we can maintain a stronger immune system and keep our cellular structure more resistant to disease.

Through hyperbaric oxygen therapy [HBOT], oxygen is forced into the body’s tissues thereby increasing circulation where it has been impaired. The use of normal-pressure oxygen is forced into the red blood cells where disease can be fought at a higher level with a strengthened immune system. The diseases ability to create a loss of oxygen to tissues now becomes thawarted.² A heightened awareness of the internal terrain to protect itself against encroaching disease can be achieved in many, if not most, cases.

Ionized water has been in full use both in private residences and clinical settings in hospitals and doctor’s offices throughout Japan for decades. Through an electrolyzed process whereby water and electricity are combined, the process results in a restructuring of water into positive (acidic or anion) ions and negative (alkaline or cation) ions. This technique introduces higher oxygen into the alkaline water and is measured in ORPs otherwise known as Oxidation Reduction Potential. As the ORP level, measured by a specially designed meter, goes lower the presence of oxygen increases in the water. An individual drinking ionized alkaline water can improve the oxygenated quality of the interstitial fluids throughout the body that contributes to a strengthening of the immune system.

Reactive molecules bring about the process of redox signaling and redox signaling, among a complex process of communication, tells the body when a battle from oxidative stress has been fought and hopefully won. It is then that rebuilding the cellular structure begins. Redox-induced messengers signal new tissues being formed that they need oxygen and nutrients. Vascular growth is motivated by these messengers. All of which is imperative for the adequate feeding of new tissues. It follows that the healing process then moves forward. The fascinating intricacy of the process is that cells become able to identify when they are in distress and call up the necessary action to get things back on track. We know that stress on the cells leads to imbalance. And imbalance triggers the correct action to bring the cells back to balance. This choreography is essential to life itself.

Unfortunately, proof doesn’t bear out that “bioidentical hormones are any safer or more effective than traditional treatments.²”

Whether choosing traditional or bioidentical, taking any kind of hormone carries with it a health trade off—comfort and clarity to the mind, body, spirit or the potential of blood clots and endometrial disease that can lead to uterine cancer.

It begs the question, is there another way? In the last four years, countless women have found hydration a critical component that allows for relief of the symptoms of menopause. If you can achieve a greater sense of balance otherwise known as homeostasis for your biological terrain, wouldn’t it be valuable?

Alkaline, micro-clustered ionized water [Kangen Water®] can make a difference. Hydration isn’t a cure, but it goes a long way toward keeping a woman’s body in balance so it can more efficiently flush toxins out of your system. These are toxins that can interfere with homeostasis and thereby aggravate the entry into the complex stage of ‘middle-age’ life. Getting in balance leads to a calm that can take you to a more comfortable and patient you.

Caregiving is an often overlooked and taken-for-granted commodity. Did you know that statistically the caregiver will pass on before the patient? Yes, it’s true. I know. It happened in my family.

In New York City, the program director of the highly evolved New York City Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association has made caregiving central to the work they do. If you are a caregiver, I urge you to tap into the resources or learn from this dynamic organization. They recognize the importance of…

“…balancing the needs of the person with dementia—who often doesn’t recognize the need to be supervised or cared for—with one’s own needs to live, work and feel a part of a larger community.”

Most caregivers that are family members are not looking to be defined by their caregiving tasks, but at the end of everyday they most often are so exhausted they don’t care how they are defined. With exhaustion comes worry. Tapping out financial resources, depletion of physical, emotional and spiritual needs as with Alzheimer’s caregiving takes its toll. The cycle of mourning your loved one as they slip away before your very eyes while they continue to eat, sleep and breathe is intense and at the highest point on the stress chart.

In this maze, you are faced with feelings of love, loss, sadness, resentment, anger, worry and the fantasy of thinking there still may be hope for the way things used to be. The price for which there is no time to grieve or nurture yourself is a heavy one. Physically the cost can be a compromised immune system when getting sick yourself is not an option.

Here are 9 ways to keep your head above water and a sense of yourself intact while caring for your loved one…

CALL the philanthropic organization that is core to your loved one’s disease or condition.

LEARN what education meetings are available to you through your local philanthropic organization. You may learn how to do something in an easier and more efficient way.

FIND a weekly support group where you can go to keep your “head on straight” while sharing and hearing from others in a similar situation.

TRY to live in the moment and find the glimmers of joy and connection with your loved one no matter how difficult this may be.

GET a nap during the day or otherwise sleep when you can.

EAT well and eat right! Lots of fiber, grains, fruits and vegetables while limiting animal protein. And keep you and your loved one hydrated. Hydration is the single most effective source of comfort you can provide.

AUGMENT your healthy diet with powerful supplements of enzymes, vitamins (especially B and C) and with a product that I’ve found significant in giving me, a 66 year old woman, the energy of a 30 year old.

KEEP an eye on your own health as much as on that of your loved one you’re caring for. It’s far too easy to overlook yourself thinking you don’t have the time.

CONTACT hospice ahead of time. The government supported hospice through Medicare is superior to any private, and more expensive, program. You may think it too early to call, but the service they offer can make your care giving so much easier…like respite care for YOU! Someone will come in and give you a day or maybe a week at a time to catch your breath and rejuvenate while refreshing yourself for another day.

DON’T be afraid to mourn the loss of your loved one as you watch them slip out of your grasp before your very eyes. You’re alive and human with deep feelings of love and expectation of being alone; both of which occur while they are here.

Support and a sense of community and understanding can give you the strength to move through your days feeling fulfilled. You will know better the rewards from giving and caring when you are both comfortable and at peace. Reach for the local resources that can make caregiving just a bit easier.

Asea is not to be feared. It is a completely non-toxic, dietary supplement whose every element is native to our biological terrain. It is not a beverage like drinking water—alkaline or otherwise.

We know that good hydration is important to any supplement. Asea is no different. Since Kangen Water® is the very best water on the planet, it makes sense to drink lots of it.

Doing a pH test of Asea within the scope of a Kangen Water® demonstration is irrelevant. Its pH is important only to the suspension of the bottled balanced set of redox signaling molecules that exist in the saline solution and that pH is more close to neutral than anything else.

Asea’s redox signaling molecules are critical to cellular function. They go beyond what Kangen Water® does. Kangen facilitates absorption through alkalinity and micro-clustering and performs as a filtration system for the cells. Asea and its molecules seek out defective cells and decides to repair or replace them.

Asea is not in competition with Kangen Water® in anyway. In fact, Kangen Water® facilitates Asea’s performance in the body. Together they are unstoppable in preventive health care and create in the body the ultimate opportunity at homeostasis.

Now my personal experience is this. After taking Asea for two months, consistently, my body is feeling and responding like a 30 year old. My cells feel awake and alive like never before. My mind has clarity far greater than people I talk to who are 25 years my junior. And when my feet hit the floor first thing in the morning, I’m off and running. For me, this is pretty darn bold.

Here’s what I encourage you to do. When you hear people tearing a product down check it out for yourself then consider the source carefully. You may just be missing something spectacular.

“Qualitative impairments of social communication and interaction, along with restricted and repetitive activities and interests.” According to some, that’s autism. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC] define autism as one of a group of disorders known as autism spectrum disorders [ASDs]. No matter what it is called, labeled or described, the condition can be devastating.

As far back as the 18th century, descriptions have been published that lend themselves to the condition of autism. Yet, it was not identified as a specific disorder until 1943. Today, we talk, discuss and hope for a way out of autism all while the number of cases continues to climb. In the broad category of ASDs are Asperger’s syndrome, Rett’s syndrome, pervasive developmental disorder and childhood disintegrative disorder. Each is determined by many factors but have the same behavioral core. Dr. Pauline Filipek of University of California, Irvine describes ASD in this way, “[Autism] is more like high blood pressure. There are a lot of reasons for [it], but the one common thing across it is that your blood pressure is elevated.”

For parents with a child having one or more of any maladies that fall under the ASD umbrella, a diagnosis of autism is a shock and a tragedy. Not at all unusual, according to the Autism A.L.A.R.M. project, is it for parents of these children to have a ‘sixth’ sense that something is not quite right with their beloved child. Instincts here are a good thing, a very good thing and it is important to trust them and follow them because early intervention has a positive impact.

What form would early intervention take? To start, superb hydration is bound to benefit at any level because the body of a child or teenager has a much higher concentration of water [Kangen Water® ] than that of an adult looking at 70% bodily water. So doesn’t it pay to consider that if we can keep our cells filter system free of toxins a child with autism could at the very least improve his or her overall health. And though there has not been any recommendation for reactive molecules [Asea] use for children under 12 years of age, it simply makes sense that it just might be worth a try when you consider that it can actually seek out defective cells and repair or replace them.

This week my son’s been in town visiting. Since he’s getting married this summer, it’s been a special time—the last time we can enjoy one another before he becomes two. Going through old pictures, proofreading the wedding invitation, sharing old memories of childhood with his brother and sister, looking forward to memories to be made with his new precious wife-to-be is how we have spent much of our time together. This and so many other reasons are what being a mother is all about. This is what makes for mothers’ Mother Days. No matter the age between mother and son, the love and the joy of a healthy relationship is priceless.

As time marches on it’s important to have conversations between you that are frankly a bother. Conversations about expectations regarding end of life plans was one more task my son had on his agenda. Frankly, there are far more uplifting things to occupy my mind, but talk we did about seemingly boring stuff like where insurance policies are kept, what kind of funeral or burial or service do I want if any, the Five Wishes pamphlet that makes it all a simple process, a will and /or living trust and something never given a thought ten years ago…all the passwords to my computer and online banking accounts…who woulda thunk it?

Well, we had this little tête-à-tête. I was stubborn and resistant. Not because I didn’t know it was practical, but because it was a pain in the ass and I had my priorities. Fortunately, I surprised this son of mine and I had already done much of what he was hoping to accomplish before he broached the topic. But there was no way I was going to sit down and read a bloody book about it so I’m leaving that detail in his hands.

The missing piece that isn’t in a ‘planning for care’ book or the ‘Five Wishes’ pamphlet is what we do to keep ourselves moving forward regardless of our age. Now I get asked often what I do to stay healthy, maintain my energy and keep my weight in check. So here’s my Mother’s Day present for all the mothers out there…my personal recommendations based on what I do for myself. These 5 key elements are easy and affordable and I promise you, you will definitely feel like a 30 year old again if you develop them around a routine…

Kangen Water® by Enagic to insure the hydration relevant to life itself…your wrinkles are the outward sign of water necessity…a sign you’re drying up, literally.

Reactive molecules by Asea that can repair or replace defective cells…the first product of its kind to perform such a feat.

Diet…less meat and more plant-based foods by following recommendations you’ll find in the books by Drs. T. Colin Campbell and Hiromi Shinya…experts in health from what we eat.

Spa day massage at least once a month…there is truly nothing like it. Did you know that Bob Hope lived to be 100? He had a massage everyday. Nice!

When you adopt this basic routine, you’ll enjoy many Mother’s Days to come and give your family the best plan possible, your gift of life and an insurance policy for healthy living.
