Obesity and BMI

Obesity and BMIAn analysis of 57 studies conducted in the U.S. and Europe were analyzed by a team of scientists at Oxford University. It involved more than 894,000 people. The team was able to correlate deaths and longevity to body mass index [BMI]. BMI is commonly used to measure obesity as it relates to someone’s weight and height.

Like heavy smoking, it’s not unusual for gross obesity to take as much as 10 years off ones life if their BMI is over 40 and you are considered grossly obese. BMI over 30 is considered moderately obese and can cut a life short by two to three years whereas BMI over 35 can take 5 to 7 years off a life.

What is an amazing fact is that excessive weight is often associated with an excess of water. But that is a myth. According to Dr. Mu Shik Jhon, author of The Water Puzzle and The Hexagonal Key, he states that the overweight person has up to 20% less water than a normal weight individual. These same individuals have a reduced metabolic rate and a reduced amount of total body water.

Bearing these facts in mind, an increased amount of the right kind of water, meaning water best equipped to hydrate efficiently so as to help flush acids and toxins out of the body, is the water of choice for adequate hydration for the average person and the obese. ‘Dead’ water as defined by the Japanese and sold in plastic bottles throughout the world does not rise to this definition.

There has been case after case of people who have seen weight loss results after drinking structured alkaline ionized water. Does this mean that it’s a for-sure thing that structured water will affect weight loss? Absolutely not. It’s a case by case situation. But it can play a part and make for a good start to shift the internal terrain to the positive side.
