The Chemistry of Success: Six Secrets of Peak Performance by Susan Lark, M.D.

Chemistry of SuccessWhen I finally sat down to write this week’s article, I had finished the most important task of my day. I had finally found the dolly pram stroller online that my adorable three year old granddaughter had asked Santa, or her Nana, that’s me, to give her for Christmas or her December birthday. You can imagine my relief and pleasure when I clicked “Submit” on the Target.com shopping cart. Relieved of the stress of finding it at all, finding it online and finding that I could get it to Phoenix by December 24th where the whole family will be convening on Christmas Eve felt like pure heaven. And I was really; really pleased at how happy I was going to make this precious, wonderful granddaughter when she opened it up and saw she had just what she had been wishing for.

This year the potential for ultra-stress for everyone is going off the charts. Money is tight, budgeting is critical and it pains us not to be as generous as we have in past years. End result, big time stress that can create the potential for colds, flu and other ailments that can lay us up for days if not weeks. With all we have to do to stay ahead of life and its challenges, staying well is the most important of all. This brings me to Susan Lark, M.D. and James A. Richard, M.B.A’s book, The Chemistry of Success.

Ms. Lark and Mr. Richard’s book, written in 2000, has been around for awhile yet it is more relevant today than when it was first published. Every home library needs it.

The Chemistry of Success was born out of questions the authors asked of themselves, “Why do highly successful people have abundant energy and might these individuals have a chemical makeup that differs substantially from that of the rest of the population? And, if this is the case, can it be restored in people who have lost it or never had it?” Don’t miss chapter 2. It gives cold hard answers that will give you peace of mind and reduce your stress. I urge you to get this book. It’s recession proof. Originally a $25 hardback publication, you can have it now for under $6. It is the best priced, affordable gift you can give. What better gift than a gift of health? Pair it with another, The Enzyme Factor by Hiromi Shinya, M.D. and you have the perfect compliment.
